Southampton City Council is warning drivers of delays with five cruise ships in the port today - and a major city centre road shut.
High volumes of cruise passengers are set to make the city difficult to get around for motorists today as the MSC Virtuosa, Ventura, MS Nautica, Iona and Sky Princess are all docked in Southampton.

The council is warning that the high volume of cruise passengers departing and arriving in Southampton will mean delays are likely on the roads.

Making the delays worse is that a major city centre road is currently blocked due to emergency road works that closed the road beginning yesterday, July 12.
Canute Road is currently closed eastbound, making traffic worse through the waterfront and city centre area.
Southampton City Council is advising road users to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
