Scores of people will flock to St Mary's today for the South East Vegan Festival.

Guest speakers, music and delicious food will be on offer for attendees.

It is run by Farplace Animal Rescue, a charity whose mission is ‘helping animals rejected elsewhere’.

Proceeds from the event will go towards this cause, allowing the charity to continue helping animals in need.

The festival has a lineup of guest speakers and workshops.

Vegan activists, nutritionists, and chefs will provide insights into the benefits of a plant-based diet, animal rights, and sustainable living. Workshops will cover topics such as vegan cooking, health and wellness, and the environmental impact of veganism, offering practical advice and inspiration for attendees.

Mark Moore, a vegan activist, is among the speakers and will unveil "the hidden aspects of animal agriculture". He will speak about his surprising journey from farmer to animal rights campaigner, which he details in his book 'The Dark Secrets Of An Animal Farmer'.

The festival will feature a variety of stalls offering a range of vegan products, including food, beverages, cosmetics, and clothing.

Attendees can sample delicious plant-based dishes from local and national vendors, with options ranging from gourmet meals to indulgent treats.

The marketplace atmosphere is designed to cater to both long-time vegans and those curious about transitioning to a vegan diet.
