A man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teenage girl on a residential street. 

Police said a 30-year-old man has been arrested following an incident on Gore Road, New Milton. 

The force received a report that a teenage girl was sexually assaulted shortly before 9am on Tuesday, July 9.

The man, from Ferndown, Dorset, was arrested in Christchurch at around 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon. 

He currently remains in police custody.
