New details have emerged after a group of animals caused traffic chaos for drivers on the M27 yesterday.
On Monday, drivers were warned of delays on the M27 between Junction 3 (M271) and Junction 4 (M3).
Traffic was stopped on the motorway causing many drivers to wonder what the hold up was about – it was soon revealed that animals on the carriageway were the cause of the delays.
Speaking during the incident, a spokesperson for National Highways said: “We're currently reporting delays on approach of at least 30 minutes above usual journey times.”

National Highways have now told the Echo that goats loose on the carriageway were the cause of the disruption.
Police and National Highways teams worked to remove the goats from the carriageway and traffic was later released.
The result of the goat fiasco lead to residual delays of up to 60 minutes above usual journey times.
