The frontman of Level 42 says that Let's Rock Southampton was as much fun on stage as he has ever had.

Level 42 rocked Southampton on Saturday, with crowds gathering on Southampton Common to see them.

Frontman Mark King said: "It was a real joy to play Let’s Rock Southampton at the weekend, and so lovely to see so many faces from the Island too!

"Hand on heart I have as much fun on stage with the guys now as I ever have, and feel very lucky to be able to make a field full of people happy, I loved it!”

The band formed on the Isle of Wight in 1979.

Red Funnel announced they held the 23.59 ferry by half an hour to make sure everyone got home.
