Following the incident, two people, a 33-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both from Southampton, were arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child and neglect and were bailed.
In May, police confirmed the man is no longer under investigation.
However, the 33-year-old woman remains on conditional bail which was due to end on Saturday.
This has been extended until October 6 while the investigation continues.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire police said: “The woman remains on conditional bail with a new date of October 6. The investigation is still ongoing.”
