Young adults' hospice Jacksplace brought festival vibes to its residents at its annual gathering.

The festival, called Jestival, is filled with live music, fun activities, and festive foods, for the young adults using the hospice service, along with their families and friends.

The festival took place on the hospice's grounds, brimming with joy and colour.

Stilt walker Jonquil entertained attendees with his fascinating feats, while the air was filled with an assortment of tunes performed by musicians.

Winchester band, Firefly, and Southampton duo, Fables, volunteered their talent for the event.

Rev Nicky Smallwood, from Naomi House & Jacksplace, also chipped in as a singer in the band, Firefly.

Play and Activities Team Leader, Claire Potterton said: "There are so many festivals on at this time of year, so it felt like the perfect time for us to bring everyone together here for an extra special summer celebration for our young adults, in the comfort of the Jacksplace grounds.

"The local community and everyone at the hospices pulled out all the stops and created an authentic, vibrant, colourful festival, filled with love.

"We had beautiful sunshine, laughter, music, food, great company, and the conga!

"It truly was our own little fantastic Glastonbury in the garden!"

Other activities included glitter face painting, festival crafts, and lawn games that caught everyone's attention.

The young adults designed mocktails, while the hospice catering team served out canapes.

Singing, dancing, and festivity emanated from every corner of Jacksplace.

Emily and Justin, band members of Fables, who extended their set at this year's festival following their previous appearance in 2023, stated that the festival was amazing.

They said: "The best part of any festival or gig is the people.

"For us to be able to bring some of that joyful, coming-of-age and community experience to Jacksplace is more rewarding than playing to hundreds at a festival or to a sold-out show in London."

Jacksplace is the only hospice in central southern England offering care, support, and empowerment for life-limited and life-threatened young adults from 16 years.
