A puppy who needs to use sun cream and wear goggles in hot weather is looking for loving owners.

White Doberman Monty is currently in the care of the Stubbington Ark rescue centre - but could he be yours?

Staff describe one-year-old Monty as a ‘real character’.

He is now looking for his forever home with a caring owner who can give him all the walks and cuddles that he needs - and apply his sun cream.

Monty has to wear goggles in the sun and sun cream on his nose. He has a lack of pigment in his eyes so is sensitive to the light.

A spokesperson for the Stubbington Ark said: “Monty is a fun affectionate boy with heaps of energy and plenty of love to give.

“He enjoys cuddles with his human friends and he thinks he’s a cat because he wants nothing more than to curl up on your lap but he doesn’t seem to understand how big he is.

“Monty loves his toys and enjoys a good run off lead, where he will bounce around making us all laugh.”

The perfect owner will not have any other dogs, cats or small animals and Monty would only be suitable for children over the age of 13 who are used to large bouncy dogs.

It would not be appropriate for the children to walk Monty due to his reactivity and strength.

The Ark spokesperson added: “Monty is reactive particularly on a lead to dogs and people but has walked with other dogs.

“He is very strong and will spin and back up when on lead so his new owners will need to have experience with a large reactive dog and be prepared to work with a behaviourist to help him work through this.”

Monty has been castrated and is fully vaccinated and up to date with his flea and worming treatment.
