The Peter Cooper Motor Group's annual golf event at Goodwood Golf Club has grown its fundraising total to a substantial £250,000 over the previous 11 years.

Southampton charities and community groups continue to receive support from the latest fundraising scheme.

This year, the Hedge End car dealership's event raised £23,000.

The day saw more than 100 competitors taking part in a classic four-ball shotgun tournament held on the well-known Downs Course.

The participants, a mix of employees, customers, and partners, competed in several challenges including nearest the pin, longest drive, a 'scrap car challenge', and contestants even had the opportunity to win a car with a hole in one.

The auction at the end of the afternoon significantly aided in their fundraising endeavour.

All raised funds lend essential support to an array of local causes and initiatives through the Peter Cooper Motor Group Foundation.

The group has greatly contributed to enhancing the conditions of those in need across the region.

Their business efforts are driven by a core value of giving back to the community, and this commitment is manifested in their charitable golf event.

Darren Cooper, managing director of Peter Cooper Motor Group, said: "Reaching the £250,000 milestone is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the generosity and spirit of our great community of friends and customers.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years, from our dedicated staff to our valued clients and partners. Together, we will help make a significant impact on the lives of many in our local area, and we look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come."
