The weather in Southampton is set to be milder this weekend but residents are still set to enjoy sunshine and temperatures in the low 20 degrees.

Met Office weather forecasts show that the weekend is set to see temperatures reach a warm 22 degrees – with just a little cloud over Saturday and Sunday.

Despite the periodic cloudy skies, the Met Office has said that temperatures could reach up to 25 degrees.

For those that suffer from hay fever, it is also expected to be a weekend with very high pollen in the air.

A spokesperson for the Met office said: “Fine, with light winds and often sunny skies. Sunshine perhaps a little hazy at times, but feeling rather warm, especially inland.

“Perhaps some thicker cloud spilling into the northwest later. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

“Cloudy and muggy start Sunday, clearing to warm sunny spells.”
