One person has been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out on an electric hob.
Firefighters from across Southampton rushed to Allington Lane in West End yesterday after reports of a cooking fire.
Crews from Hightown, St Mary's and Redbridge arrived to find that an alarm had been caused to go off by a plastic saucepan.
The pan had melted on an electric hob, causing flames.

The fire was extinguished.
One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Ventilation fans were then used to clear the smoke away.
The incident happened at around 3pm in the afternoon.
