Southampton is set to bask in glorious sunshine throughout the day, with temperatures reaching as high as 28 degrees Celsius this afternoon.
Bright sunshine has been forecast throughout the day, with a spokesperson for the Met Office saying: “Any early mist and fog patches will soon clear to give a fine day with light winds and plenty of sunshine.
“Staying dry with some fair-weather cloud in the afternoon. Very warm or even hot in places.”

There are no weather warnings in place – though the Met Office has stated there will be a very high pollen count for hay fever sufferers.
