Delighted to be back for another fantastic year, The Garden Show at Broadlands is once again set to ‘bloom’, but this time from July 26th – 28th.
If you like to support the smaller businesses, offering a unique range of wares not found on the high street, why not come along and browse the 160 stands, showcasing everything from the latest specialist plants, garden, and home accessories; to stands selling art, design, sculpture, fashion, toys, tempting foods and wines, as well as a multitude of other lovely goodies!
If that’s not enough, you can also use this opportunity to source new talent, designers and artisans, really making the show an event for all home and garden enthusiasts!
You can also attend daily garden advise talks and demonstrations from various experts! On Friday Paul Slater - the shows in house ‘Gardening Doctor’ and knowledgeable grower will be helping gardens thrive with a Q & A session, ‘Plant Selection’ offering advice on choosing the right plants for your ground.
On Saturday, Dr Ian Bedford, entomologist, will be running ‘Pest Clinics’ all day, identifying any bug samples brought along, with advice to give on how to best rid your garden of them in as friendly a way as possible. He is also ready to discuss ‘Britain’s Nature Recovery Plan’, as well as host a talk at 1.30pm about ‘Gardens For Nature.
Finally, Sunday’s talk, by Jane Sterck, one of the founders of the shows, ‘A Trip Down Memory Lane’, will be about Jane’s growing up and family life, leading to the first Garden Show.
Not forgetting the youngsters, there is plenty of activities on site to keep the whole family occupied, including - The ‘Giant Tombola’, with a chance to win amazing prizes donated by The Garden Show exhibitors. You can also hang a wish or memory on the ‘Tree of Life’ in support of the show’s chosen charity Jane Scarth House, (janescarthhouse.co.uk).
Why not take part in ‘Have-a-go-archery’ with The Queens Archers, as well as watch display shows from Huxley Birds of Prey, who will thrilling spectators. Entertainer, Crazee Hazee will also be there, teaching circus skills, and performing his hilarious Punch and Judy shows! Plus, for the really little ones, there is - Toddler Fun Fair rides, swing boats and bouncy castles.
If that’s not enough, there will be ongoing Artisan demonstrations, a chance to have a go at a blacksmithing workshop, plus, musical entertainment from ‘The Jazz Trio,’ who will be wandering around delighting all with their evocative music of times past.
All in all, making this a great day out with something for the whole family to enjoy! Life is good this Summer!
