The Itchen Bridge was closed for over an hour following two separate incidents.
Motorists faced delays on Sunday afternoon as police shut the bridge to traffic.
Officers have now confirmed they were called just after 4pm to a report of a concern for welfare of a teenage girl.

She was located by officers.
An hour later, a crash involving a car and a motorcycle occurred where one person reported minor injuries.
A road closure was put in place as a result, running between the B3039, Saltmarsh Road, and Manor Road South.
