The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

PAUL BURTON, 67, of Romsey Road, Shirley was found guilty of assault by beating in Southampton. He received a 26-week sentence suspended for six months and was ordered to pay £620 court costs. 

NIALL WOOLRYCH, 20, of Ringwood Road, Longham pleaded guilty to drug driving on the A31 at Ringwood. He was banned from driving for 12 months and must pay a £500 fine. 

SERGEJ SIPILOVAS, 21, of Milton Road, Southampton admitted to possessing a controlled drug of Class B, namely cannabis. He was fined £80 and must pay £85 court costs plus a £32 surcharge. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs. 

JAMES CAIN, 32, of Milton Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker. Cain was jailed for 56 days.

DARREN PARISH, 36, of James Court, Newport admitted a charge of harassment in breach of a restraining order in Southampton. He received a 14-week sentence of imprisonment. 

MICHAEL GLASS, 71, of Greenmead Avenue, Lymington pleaded guilty to drink driving a Hyundai Tuscan on Greenmead Avenue. He was caught with 40 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Glass was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £230. He was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £92 surcharge. 

DAMIEN NUGENT, 59, of Sydney Road, Shirley admitted to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Southampton. He also pleaded guilty to common assault. Nugent was fined £500 in total and must pay £85 court costs plus a £200 surcharge. 

DENNIS OFOSU, 44, of Arakan Crescent, Marchwood pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver. He received a £300 fine and six points on his licence. He was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £120 surcharge.
