Organisers of an annual weekend rally have warned motorists to expect traffic prior to the event.
The Dene Rally which will take place in Alton between Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23, will see over 300 exhibits – including steam engines, classic cars, and classic motorbikes – displayed for visitors as well as showcasing a Wild West Show, courtesy of The Wyoming Authentic Western Society.
Although there are no road closures in place during or prior to the event, organisers have warned motorists that there could be some minor delays.
A spokesperson for the Dene Rally commented: “We expect slow moving steam vehicles on the A31 and A32 heading towards Monkwood on the Friday (June 21) and Saturday (June 22).”
They went on to say: “We have over 40 steam engines this year, many of which will make their way to us under their own steam.”
