Two burglars threw a statue at a window while fleeing a property after being caught in the act.

The garden statue was launched towards the window of the home in Goodwood Gardens, Totton on Thursday, June 6, police said as they appealed for witnesses.

According to police, the two men forced entry into a shed but were subsequently disturbed, causing the damage as they left the scene.

In their appeal, police describe the men as skinny and wearing black clothing with their hoods up. 

A spokesperson said: "Were you in the area at the time of the burglary? Did you witness the incident itself, or do you have any footage of the incident, whether that be CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam or doorbell camera?
