To mark the historic 80th anniversary of D-Day more than 1,500 beacons were lit across the UK with one being lit at Hythe Marina.
Residents joined the Hythe Sea Scouts and and the Hythe Marina Association for the beacon lighting at 9:15pm on Thursday, June 6.
Local children came dressed as WWII evacuees and songs were sung by the Hythe Primary School Choir.
