Officers are appealing for information after a car collided with a child in Swanmore.

The collision, which happened on Church Road at approximately 1pm on Monday, May 27, involved a silver vehicle and a pedestrian.

Police have said that the driver briefly stopped to check on the welfare of the pedestrian, but then drove off without exchanging details.

The pedestrian involved in the collision – a young child – suffered only minor injuries during the incident.

Enquiries have been ongoing in order to try and identify the vehicle and driver involved, but officers are now turning to the public for assistance.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Were you in the area at the time of the incident? Did you see what happened or do you know the driver involved? Were you the driver involved?

"If you have any information which could assist in our investigation, including any dash cam or other footage, please call 101 and quote incident number 44240222122."
