Stark photos show the ongoing demolition of a seafront pub ravaged by a fire.

The Osborne View pub in Hill Head was ripped apart by a huge blaze on February 22, with flames reaching 10ft high and temperatures soaring to 330C.

All that was left was a shell of a pub, but work is underway to eventually rebuild it.

Demolition of the site is ongoing so it can then be returned to its former glory.

Photographs taken by the team at Solent Architecture show the charred remains of the building as they are knocked down.

Daily Echo:

Scaffolding can be seen on either side of the site as workmen gradually knock it down.

There is no timeframe for when the work will be completed.

Matt Kearsey, managing director of Hall and Woodhouse who own the pub, previously said the company is "committed" to its redevelopment.

He said: “While our timescales for redevelopment are currently being determined, our plans to restore the building to its former cherished role within the Fareham community, are progressing.”

The cause of the fire was later confirmed to be an electrical fault in a tumble dryer at the building.
