I would like to take this opportunity to thank the person who shouted and screamed at me on the No 17 bus on May 30.

It was a waste of your time and effort, as I did not hear anything you said.

I have a profound hearing loss and use British Sign Language (the language of the deaf) as my first language.

I did not ask for a hearing loss. I respect other people’s disabilities and I expect other people to respect mine.

I hope that, one day, you will have a hearing loss and that no hearing aid assists you.

Maybe then you will understand the problems that it causes.
