With the news of a reunion at Jumpin Jak's, the Echo looks back at pictures of the venue through the years.
Numerous Southampton residents of a certain age hold recollections of the Jumpin' Jaks nightclub - some joyful, while others less so.
With the promise of duelling pianos, Spinny Man, and a barn dance theme, clubbers eagerly lined up in Leisure World's foyer - even when the club was empty inside!
It was not uncommon to spot Saints footballers in there, including Matt Le Tissier and Claus Lundekvam, mingling in a cosy corner, unwinding after a hard day's training.
During a lively event in February 2003, partygoers found themselves drenched in the unthinkable after a sewage pipe burst above the dance floor.
Reports suggested that approximately 750 individuals were present at the venue when the pipe suddenly disconnected.
Dan Wight posted the above image of Jumpin’ Jaks nightclub in Facebook group We grew up in Southampton and wrote: "A little something for us 30s, 40s and even 50 somethings!
"Please bring back this place!"
Revellers can get in on the retro action on Saturday August 17, between 2pm-7pm at the Engine Rooms, West Quay Industrial Estate, Southampton.
