The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms in Southampton and Hampshire
The new alert this morning is in force from 8am. It covers most of the South East and West and goes on until 7pm.
It’s the second day in a row that the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms which affect the city.
The UK’s national weather service warns that spray and sudden flooding which could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures could be expected.
The warning says: “Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
“There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost”.
