Police are appealing for victims to come forward after a series of reported thefts at a leisure centre in the New Forest.

It comes after officers arrested a 31-year-old man from Dorset on Saturday, March 9, in connection with five reported thefts at New Milton Health & Leisure, Gore Road.

Those incidents were reported to police between Wednesday, February 28, and Sunday, March 7.

The man has since been released on conditional police bail, pending further enquiries.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “If you’ve recently had items stolen while on a visit to a Hampshire swimming pool, gym, or leisure centre, please report this to us at the earliest opportunity.

“Officers are particularly keen to hear from you if you’ve had wallets, bank cards and/or cash stolen, and if this money has later been used in betting shops.”

They added: “You can report incidents to us by calling 101.”
