Tenpin has undergone a £4m revamp, transforming what the general manager admitted was a dated bowling alley into an impressive new destination.
Complete with several bars and booths, rows of arcade games, escape rooms, karaoke booths, soft play, crazy golf and laser tag - it would be rude not to try it out.
So the Echo team decided to head down and try it out - and we were not disappointed.

James: I was really impressed with the variety of things to do - you could easily spend a whole day there, let alone an evening.
The crazy golf was prison-themed, complete with orange jumpsuits to wear if you felt brave enough.
I thought the way of collecting the balls at the end was a nice touch - a massive pinball machine where you could potentially win a prize.
Laser tag would be great for a children’s party; up to 32 people can play, either solo or in two groups.
The karaoke booths had a great variety of songs, and inflatable guitars and novelty glasses if you were in the mood.
Jose (pictured bottom right): Having gone to Tenpin last year before the revamp I can honestly say the transformation is like night and day. Before the revamp, I remember going with friends and thinking the place looked vintage; a friend even suggested that it looked like the set of Netflix show Stranger Things.
On this visit, I was very impressed with the bowling alleys, the quality of the lanes and the bowling balls.
Maybe I just got a good impression because I did better than my last game here - but the quality of the place was very good.
The nachos were just what I needed after knocking down a few pins.
I also loved the prison-themed crazy golf; I thought it was very original and the bar midway through the holes was a very smart idea.
The whole evening consisted of bowling, golf, laser tag and a round of pool before finishing off at the karaoke - and was very enjoyable.
I would highly recommend an evening visit to Tenpin.
Tim (pictured right): From the moment we walked in, you could see the huge difference since before the work.
Besides the fact that the entrance had moved, the general aesthetics looked cleaner and more organised.
A rather interesting-looking escape room was on our right as we walked in, and stretching out down almost the length of the building were the bowling alleys.
The building was well organised, with arcade games near the entrance and crazy golf and soft play down the other end.
The bowling was as enjoyable as ever, topped off with nachos delivered to our alley which really hit the spot.
The crazy golf was a fun experience, and the prison theme really added to it with a range of different mini-games and contraptions.
I was surprised by the size of the laser tag arena which boasted an upstairs area, more secluded spots for close-quarters fighting and wide open areas with defensive walls.
Finally, the karaoke areas were very well put together.
An "on air" light greets you as you walk through the door, and then when you go in you find a number of props as well as a huge range of songs to choose from.
Beware though - if your song lasts longer than the allotted time, you will get cut off as we discovered!
All around, a very enjoyable evening.
