Take a walk down Weston Shore and I am sure one of the things which will stand out is the sorry state of the former playground, part removed by Southampton council 18 months ago and left to rot since.
Sadly the council has confirmed they have no intention to replace the playground on the shore, depriving our children and grandchildren of a great space to play and enjoy the fresh air.
As a resident of the Weston Estate, I know how much residents value our shore, clearly something not shared by Southampton council, who are only too happy to neglect it in favour of their other pet projects in the city.
People come from all over Southampton to enjoy Weston Shore and its about time the council start investing in it rather than taking it for granted.
