Southampton's Royal Pier was a popular destination in its heyday and attracted many visitors and locals alike.
It was a bustling hub of activity with various amenities and attractions, making it a busy place for leisure and entertainment.
But it wasn't originally busy.
Royal Pier enjoyed a boom period in the 19th and early 20th centuries, especially when it served as a dock for steamers and offered leisure activities for passengers and locals.
However, the pier closed in 1979 and, following a couple of fires, what's left of the old structure is in disrepair.
