A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was seriously injured in Hampshire.
Police described the incident, which happened just before 12.15pm on Thursday, as a 'serious assault'.
A 62-year-old man was attacked on Cranford Road in Petersfield, according to police.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Martin Copeland, aged 58, of Cranford Road in Petersfield, has been charged with attempted murder.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on 15 April.
According to a police spokesman, the seriously injured man is still in hospital, but in a stable condition.
