A new 26,000 sq ft gym is set to open this summer offering 24-hour access.

JD Gyms will open its latest fitness facility in West End Road in Bitterne by early summer.

Part of the retailer JD Sports group, the gym is set to offer access for £5 for the first month.

A spokesperson said: "A world-class 24-hour fitness facility is coming to Southampton and is due to open in early summer. JD Gyms, part of JD Sports Fashion group, is creating an incredible 26,000 sq ft fitness facility on West End Road in Bitterne Village.

"Featuring hundreds of pieces of the industry’s best cardio, strength and functional fitness equipment, the gym will also offer one of the area’s largest free weights zones, Eleiko functional zone, boxing zone, sled track, dedicated glute area and saunas in the luxury changing rooms.

"A state-of-the-art fitness studio will play host to hundreds of classes a month, including our bespoke HIIT bootcamp concept, JD Burn, all of which are included in the monthly membership price.

"The gym will be open 24/7 and will have plenty of free parking on site."
