Fans of ITV quiz show The Chase might come across a familiar face while out in Southampton.

Quizmaster Shaun Wallace, known as the 'Dark Destroyer' on the popular TV show, is a qualified barrister and often attends hearings at Southampton Crown Court.

He was spotted at the city's crown court as recently as Monday.

Alongside his law career, and being one of six "chasers" on Bradley Walsh's game show, Wallace is also a part-time lecturer and visits schools and colleges.

He previously hosted a fundraising event at Oasis Academy Mayfield which saw more than £2,500 raised for a new sports pitch for Sholing Football Club.

And in 2018 the 63-year-old also travelled to the Silverlake Stadium in Eastleigh where he hosted "the Ultimate Quiz Night".

According to Great James Street Chambers' website, Wallace is a criminal defence advocate with over 35 years experience.

An Honorary Doctor of Laws, he specialises in a criminal cases including murder, manslaughter, fraud, money laundering, firearms and drug trafficking.

He has also lectured in environmental law, health and safety and road transport law and regulations.

Wallace is not the only Chaser likely to be spotted in and around Southampton.

Mark Labbett, known as The Beast, has also travelled to the south coast recently alongside partner Hayley Palmer who was born and raised in Fareham.

He attended a fundraiser in Ocean Village last September for the Ninth Annual Southampton Boat Show Charity Luncheon and recently hosted a quiz at a pub in Fareham.
