A PRIMARY school has seen a "rapid turnaround" in its fortunes due to the "exceptional leadership of the headteacher".
That's according to Ofsted, which has rated Pembroke Park Primary School and Nursery on Devizes Road as 'Good', months after it had been labelled 'inadequate'.
The school is a part of Magna Learning Partnership, so the Trust has responsibility for running the school along with headteacher Toni Hayzen.
The Ofsted inspection took place on Wednesday, December 13 and Thursday, December 14.
The school was awarded ‘good’ in all categories including overall effectiveness, the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision.
The report said that pupils enjoy going to the "inclusive and vibrant school", and that relationships between staff and pupils are warm and supportive.
It adds: "Pupils and staff live and breathe the school values in all they do. The school environment is friendly, calm and purposeful. Pupils feel safe and happy in school. They trust adults to take care of them. If worries or concerns arise, pupils are confident that adults will sort them out quickly. Pupils are well-behaved, polite and considerate.
"When reminders are needed, adults help pupils make the right choice and learn from their slip-ups. The school has high aspirations for all pupils. Pupils work hard and learn well. While there remains a legacy of underachievement in the older years, the school is working with determination to ensure these pupils are well prepared for the next stage of their education."

Inspectors praised the leadership of the school.
They wrote in the report: "The exceptional leadership of the headteacher has been instrumental in the rapid turnaround of this school. Ably supported by school leaders, staff and the trust, the school’s work to address weaknesses identified at the previous inspection has been swift, rigorous and effective."
CEO of Magna Learning Partnership, Ian Tucker, said: "I would like to thank everyone involved for their inspirational leadership and tireless efforts in leading the staff and community to this outcome.
“Magna Learning Partnership is delighted to have played such a strong part in the journey that Pembroke Park has been on over the years, and we look forward to the next exciting chapter."
Inspectors described the school as ‘a family where everyone is welcomed.’
