A councillor has praised the work of paramedics who were called to Holly Hill Leisure Centre after a 15-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest.
The incident happened on Wednesday, December 27, while the teenager was using the gym and was later taken to hospital.
Fareham Borough Councillor, Seán Woodward, has commended the work of the paramedics who treated the patient at the scene.
He told the Echo: “They did an amazing job and carried out lifesaving work.
“It was a 15-year-old that was treated by emergency services, my thoughts and prayers are with their family.

“I don’t know them, but I think everyone can sympathise with their situation, not only because of what’s happened but also given that it’s happened just after Christmas.”
The councillor added: “Without our incredible emergency services, who knows what would have happened.
"I hope the person involved makes a full recovery.”
Following the incident, Ryan Grant, Everyone Active contract manager, stated: “Unfortunately, a customer suffered a cardiac arrest whilst using the gym facilities at Holly Hill Leisure Centre on Wednesday morning.
“The emergency services were called, and the individual was taken to hospital.”
He added: “We wish the individual a speedy recovery and would like to thank our customers for their cooperation and support in this matter.”
