RESIDENTS in Romsey and Totton have been hit with limited water supply due to issues with ground water at Timsbury.
Southern Water tankers arrived again in Sandy Lane, by Abbotswood Estate, early this morning (December 15) according to Hampshire County Councillor Nick Adams-King.
However, residents were left in the dark as to why they were there with no update online or on social media from the utility company.
Cllr Geoff Cooper posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Can Southern Water please tell me and the residents of Romsey what is happening in Sandy Lane please?
"Trucks are out but no information on your website or X feed and I’ve spoken to residents that say they’ve had no information from you. What’s going on?”

Cllr Adams-King said: “I have already had concerns raised by residents about the noise and disturbance they are causing. As of 7.45am there was no traffic management in place and no permit for works on the highway had been submitted.
“I've spoken with HCC Highways, asking that when the permit request comes in, which undoubtedly it will, they ensure the lorries are told to park away from the residential properties.”
The Romsey and county councillor was later informed by Southern Water that there are issues with Timsbury Water Supply Works which means water needs to be taken from elsewhere to be pumped back into the system.
A spokesperson for Southern Water said: "There was a temporary unplanned loss of supply while we carried out works. We apologise to customers for the inconvenience. They should see their water return very soon, if not already."
The tankers pumping water into the system are being removed from Sandy Lane and Chivers Road.
Southern Water has also been delivering bottled water to customers on its Priority Services Register (PSR) in Waterside and New Forest areas (postcode areas SO40 and SO45) due to separate issues at Testwood Water Supply Work.
