THERE was major railway disruption between Southampton Central and Winchester as emergency services dealt with an incident.
Train services running through the stations were likely to be cancelled, delayed or revised while response teams attended earlier this afternoon, just before 1pm.

At the time, South Western Railway (SWR) said: "We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."
The British Transport Police was contacted for more information.
As of 3.30pm, the railway lines were reopened but disruption and delays were expected until 9pm.
A speed restriction has also been enforced between Romsey and Mottisfont due to high track temperatures.
All Dunbridge trains are also running at a reduced speed on all lines.
Trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised because as a result. Disruption due to the heat is anticipated to end by 5pm today (June 24).
