He said: "I’ve learnt independence skills through going to Rose Road. I’m more confident as a person. The support workers are just absolutely amazing.

"I trust all the staff 100 per cent and I feel it’s thanks to all of them that I’m who I am today. It’s so important for my mum to know that I’m safe and happy at Rose Road."

The charity, which provides residential respite and community outreach services, holiday playschemes, support networks, forums, and information services for disabled children and young adults, currently provides direct care services for 340 children and young adults.

Pete's completion of the 70km wheelchair challenge has been a meaningful way to mark Rose Road's 70th anniversary celebrations. As a regular attendee of the charity's respite service, Pete's challenge has showcased the transformative impact Rose Road has had on his confidence and independence.

His dedication and unwavering commitment have inspired many to donate, resulting in over £870 raised to support Rose Road's crucial work. These funds will help ensure that more disabled children and young people can experience a life without limitations.
