The crew of Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 have paid tribute to the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The captain of the cruise liner, Aseem Hashmi MNM, was joined on the top deck of the luxury cruise brand’s flagship by some of the ship’s company, which included senior officers, Cunard bellhops as well as chefs, and housekeepers.
Capt Hashmi had previously sworn allegiance to the new King as Master of Queen Mary 2 on September 10, after the official proclamation which took place at St James’s Palace.

A picture taken on May 2 shows the moment the crew formed the royal cypher ‘CRIII’ as a special tribute on behalf of the cruise firm while the cruise was docked in Southampton.
Cunard’s royal connections date back to August 1861, when Prince Alfred sailed from Halifax to Liverpool on Cunard’s SS Arabia.
More recently, Cunard prides itself that members of the royal family have graced each of the ships in its fleet.
All three of the firm’s Queen cruises which include Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria will broadcast the ceremony live from Westminster Abbey on their Royal Court Theatres and guest stateroom TV,
It will also host street parties in the Grand Lobbies for themed musical performances, films, and quizzes.
Captain Hashmi said: “It was an absolute privilege to pay a special Cunard tribute for the coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.“Our company shares a unique bond with the royal family, and it was only right that we joined the nation in celebrating this historic occasion.”
