A HAMPSHIRE theme park's original mascot is returning for the first time in a decade as part of the attraction’s 40th anniversary.
Paulton’s Park, home to Peppa Pig World, is bringing back Percy Owl and inviting its charity partners for a sculpture trail to celebrate the milestone.
Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity and The Karen Ingram Foundation both received a sculpture to design to be included in the 11-owl trail, dotted around the park for guests to discover from April to October.
Each charity sculpture will include a QR code for visitors to learn more about what the causes and donate.
Percy Owl was the face of Paultons Park during the 80s and 90s and will be making special appearances on selected dates in May alongside the trail.
Operations director at Paultons Park, James Mancey, said: “Every year we are delighted to work with a number of local charity organisations in our community, many of which we have been supporting for decades.
"Supporting the local community has been a constant for us over the last 40 years, so including our charity partners in the anniversary celebrations was only right. Both causes provide immense care and research to help so many families and this resonates with all of us at Paultons.”
“We have built a wonderful relationship with both Southampton Children’s Hospital and The Karen Ingram Foundation, so we’re excited to be partnering with them again. We have invited both charities to have a presence with the owl sculptures in the park throughout the school summer holidays, to provide signposting to guests with more information on how to support and get involved.”
The Paultons Park team will also host a variety of their own fundraising events throughout the year, such as a bake sale, prize raffle and a tandem skydive, to raise money for their premier charity partner Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity.
The Percy Owl trail is free with admission. To book a visit go to paultonspark.co.uk/.
