THE Lord Mayor of Southampton is to host a drag afternoon tea this weekend.
Cllr Jacqui Rayment will welcome drag queens Aura Jay, Dawn and Ula Lah to the stage at the charity event, on Sunday.
It will take place at The Stage Door on West Marlands Road from 1pm.
Cllr Rayment said: "Let's get together and raise some money for my chosen Southampton-based charities whilst we enjoy and celebrate great businesses within our city.
"We laughed until our sides ached last time and let’s be honest we all need a laugh!"
Cllr Rayment has chosen three charities to support in her mayoral year.
City Reach is a youth project which has been working in central Southampton for over 30 years.
Volunteers from Southampton Street Pastors patrol the city centre at night, assisting those that are vulnerable, injured, suffering a mental health crisis or unwell through alcohol/drugs.
Southampton Hospitals Charity aims to enhance the world class care provided at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
Tickets are £35 per person from thestagedoor.org.uk
