Reports of violence and sexual offences were the highest reported crime in March in Southampton, according to the latest police data.

Figures from police.uk show there were a total of 1,998 crimes reported across the city in March.

Violence and sexual offences was the most reported crime - with 837 reports - across Southampton in March.

This was followed by anti-social behaviour which was reported 221 times in the same month.

Across the town the third highest crime was public order offences which received 216 reports.

Criminal damage and arson (158), vehicle crime (130) and other theft (136) all received similar rates of reports throughout March in the Southampton City Council area.

The lowest reported crimes were theft from a person (8), bicycle theft (27) and robbery (12).
