A DAZZLING lightning show lit up Southampton skies during a thunderstorm on Sunday night.
Hampshire residents ventured outside to snap some striking pictures of the event.
Mother nature's remarkable show was seen from Weston Shore, Cheesefoot Head in Winchester, above the Isle of Wight, and elsewhere in Southampton.
The Met Office previously issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across THE CITY.

The national weather service said the area could be prone to flooding, with a "small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly", according to the Met Office.
The warning was active from 8pm Sunday, May 15 until 5am Monday, May 16.
A spokesperson said: “Although the locations affected by thunderstorms remains uncertain, a few places may experience a combination of heavy rain, frequent lightning and hail during Sunday night.”
However, things are set to brighten up in Southampton today with sunny intervals expected until midday.
Then there will be light showers before the sun makes a reappearance mid-afternoon.
