MYSTERY surrounds what has happened to a popular crazy adventure golf course near Basingstoke.
Visitors to Tidal Bay Adventure Golf at the weekend were shocked to find the 18-hole miniature golf course, based around a tropical tidal bay theme, had gone.
The themed course which included koi carp, terrapins, an exotic bird aviary, and outdoor deck with a club house, had all been removed.
The course, which opened in Sherfield-on-Loddon in 2017, has more than 100 five-star reviews across Facebook, Google and TripAdvisor.
Its Facebook page, which now states it is ‘temporarily closed’, was last updated on September 23 inviting golfers to come and enjoy the warm weekend.
There has been no information posted about it closing and its website still lists it as being open Monday to Sunday from 9am to 6pm.
Damian Goldsmith, who is the landlord for the site and owns the next-door DH Water Gardens, said it was a mystery as to what had happened.
Speaking to the Gazette, he said: “They upped and left seven days ago. I’m the landlord and not even I know what’s happened.
“It was really popular and we have had people turning up looking to play golf and finding it gone. There’s no sense to anything and it’s a mystery.”
The Gazette has attempted to contact Tidal Bay Adventure Golf via email and phone, but has not yet been able to get hold of anyone.
