The Metropolitan Police are investigating after two men were arrested in Southampton in possession of a stolen Mercedes.
Shortly after 19.00 on Wednesday September 8, police received a report of a theft of a motor vehicle from Yeading Lane, Hayes.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary called to a report of a stolen vehicle entering the county at 21:59.
At around 22.40, the car was stopped on The Avenue in Southampton.
The two male occupants, aged 34 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
Mohamed Hassan, 34, of no fixed address, but from the Hayes area, is charged with failure to provide a specimen for analysis and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.
He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on Thursday 30 September.
Both men were taken into custody and subsequently released under investigation.
The Met police are currently leading the investigation.
