A CRUISE firm which regularly departs from Southampton has been crowned the best group operator.
For the ninth consecutive year, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has officially been named the best cruise line operator for groups.
Ellie Fulcher, Sales Manager for Groups and Affinity at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, accepted the award at the virtual Group Travel Awards 2020 ceremony on September 3.
She said: “It has been an extremely challenging year for us all in the travel industry, but throughout it all we have had the support of our guests who can’t wait to get back cruising with us again.
“Thank you to each and every one of you who voted for us to win this award today. It really is a testament to the support and loyalty of all of the group travel organisers that we work with."
Fred. Olsen beat off competition from the other cruise lines in this category, including Cruise & Maritime Voyages, Hurtigruten, Emerald Waterways and P&O Cruises.
Ellie added: "To win it this year, after everything, makes this award extra special. And to be able to say we have won it for nine consecutive years – just wow.
"It really is a privilege working with you all, and long may it continue. We can’t wait to welcome you and your groups back on board our new look fleet very soon.”
Fred. Olsen aims to offer groups a tailor-made cruise experience, catering for those travelling in a group with family or friends, or with their local club, association or society, to exclusive full-ship charters.
