A SOUTHAMPTON teenager who carried out a "sustained attack" on emergency workers has been given a suspended sentence.

Joshua Charles Baker, 18, assaulted three police officers during an incident on October 4.

The teenager also damaged items inside Southampton-based activity centre, Sportfit Shortbreak Care, on the same day.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Baker, of Cranbury Place, Southampton, pleaded guilty to three counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

He also admitted one count of criminal damage and one count of breaching a conditional discharge.

Baker was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for 18 months.

He was also ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity requirement, 80 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay £100 in compensation to each of the officers he assaulted.
