A SOUTHAMPTON man is appealing for the driver who knocked him off of his bike to come forward.
Lee Goosey, 47 from Sholing was training for an upcoming cycle ride when he was knocked off his bike in a collision with a car on July 4.
The incident happened at around 4pm in Angel Crescent, Bitterne when Lee was hit by a black car being driven by a woman.
Lee who is a father of two said he was hit by the car when it turned left in to the street from Bitterne Road that the incident.
He said " The incident could have been fatal, the car just came out of nowhere and hit me."
Lee said he was in "shock" and that the woman got out the car, apologised and then quickly left the scene.
He said: "Before I knew it, she had driven off."
Suffering from cuts, bruises and a broken radius in his arm, Lee is now unable undertake the cycle challenge which he is set to take place in London in August.
He was supposed to ride 100 miles in the Prudential RideLondon event on August 4 in aid of Open Sight, a Hampshire based charity which offers a range of services for those with, or at risk of sight loss.
Lee, a refuse driver for Southampton city council has also had to take time off of work due to his arm injury.
He said: "I am absolutely gutted as it is very unlikely that I am going to be able to do the ride in August.
"I also miss working, the boredom is unbelievable."
Lee's bike also was damaged and has cost £125 to fix.
Lee's wife Jayne said: "This whole situation is pretty frustrating.
"I don't know why the woman drove off, this is just not what you do."
Lee added: "I want the driver to come forward as she just should have given her details.
"This could have been a lot worse."
A spokesperson from Hampshire Police confirmed the incident and said: "Anyone with information about who the female driver is, or who may have seen the collision, is asked to call us on 101, quoting 44190231252."
