UNWANTED furniture, clothes and electrical items have been sent to a children’s hospice.
Renaissance Retirement, based in Ringwood, has teamed up with national move company, House to Home, to deliver all its customers’ unwanted books, DVDs and other goods from their homes Naomi House and Jacksplace in Sutton Scotney.
Buyers moving into Renaissance’s apartments all over the south have been donating their unwanted items to the charity which have a second hand value through its retail outlets.
The children’s charity, which provides valuable respite and hospice service for children and young adults has received more than six van loads of unwanted goods so far which are have been distributed across its retail shops.
Marketing director for Renaissance Retirement, Chris Wotton said: “I’m delighted to be able to help raise as much as possible for Naomi House during our anniversary year.
“Our buyers often donate unwanted items to charity so we decided to collect it all up and send it to the Naomi House depot. It’s amazing what people don’t want and there have have been some valuable items donated.
“We are also doing some additional fundraising events and initiatives which have also raised over a thousand pounds with various donations.”
New business development fundraiser at Naomi House and Jacksplace Lisa Congdon said: “We rely heavily on local businesses just like Renaissance to support our fundraising.”
