SOUTHAMPTON Brit pop band the Novatones hailed their Isle of Wight Festival gig as another "dream come true".
The five-piece indie group proudly kicked off the action on the Big Top on festival's closing day.
Opening the stage at noon on a Sunday is always challenging but they got the action started from the off - with the lead singer enthusiastically strumming a patriotic Union Jack guitar.
He told the crowd: "You are watching five lads making their dreams come true. It wouldn't be possible without our Isle of Wight family."
They broke into a collection of high engergy tunes including "Living for the Weekend" with the crowd slowly swelling in numbers throughout their 30 minute set as revellers gradually emerged from their tents for the day ahead.
They rounded off an impressive show with their anthem "Avenue Road" encouraging the audience to sing along and sway their arms in the air.
