REVELLERS and music-lovers are getting in the spirit as they travel across the Solent to the Isle of Wight festival.
The annual summer event kicks off this evening and people are travelling from across the world to enjoy Queen with Adam Lambert, The Who, and Faithless.
Carly Stephens, 27, a care worker from Southampton, said: "I am most looking forward to Queen because they are a good song along, especially Bohemian Rhapsody.
"I came to the Isle of Wight festival a few years ago and I had the best time chilling out."
Torrential rain was predicted for the weekend and this morning a heavy fog was hanging over the Solent, but the forecast has since improved.
Eilidh Southern, 26, an administrator from Southampton, said: "I am looking forward to seeing Queen and Busted, because I grew up with Queen and I am a massive fan and Busted were my favourite childhood band.
"This is my first festival and first time camping but I am not one of those people who hates dirt, I think it is going to be exciting.
"I am not looking forward to the toilets though."
Chad Unwin, 21, a call centre worker from Eastleigh, said: "Queen will be great, they're the ultimate rock band and they have been around for so long and still going.
"This is my first festival and it was for a 21st birthday present."
Sherry Lester, 46, a coordinator from Eastleigh, said: "It's got to be Queen, but I just love it all,the whole festival is fantastic.
"This is the fourth year that I have been and I keep coming back for the atmosphere and the hospitality."
Donna Small, 36, a coordinator from Eastleigh, said: "I love the festival because of the great people and I am looking forward to seeing Ocean Colour Scheme who are on just before Queen.
"It's nice not being at work and the Isle of Woght festival is really friendly and it is the best organised festival that I know of."
