A NEW book of guided walks which all start from railway stations is due to arrive this weekend.
The Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership and Transition Southampton have produced the Station Walks Guide which will be launched at Books for Free at the Third Age Centre in Cranbury Terrace on Saturday (June 27) from 10.30am.
Following the book launch there will be a short walk to Junction Inn at St Denys which is hosting a beer festival that day.
The 88-page guide includes 38 walks from railway stations from Salisbury to Southampton Central, Redbridge to Bursledon and all stations in between as well as other information about places to visit, history and travel.
Walks vary in length and difficulty from half a mile to eight miles.
Copies of the guide are priced £5 and proceeds will be reinvested in Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership for the production of other publications aimed at encouraging people to travel by train to visit this area and in Transition Southampton projects, inspiring a happier, healthier and greener city.
