MARWELL Wildlife has announced that vehicle hire company U-Drive has become the ‘official education partner’ and latest supporter of the public art sculpture extravaganza, Marwell’s Zany Zebras.
The company will be providing Marwell’s education ranger with a ‘Zany Zebra’ van to visit the 100 schools and groups across Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and Surrey, taking part in the education programme between January and June.
U-Drive, which has 15 branches across the South West and Wales, also specialises in vehicle leasing and commercial vehicle sales.
Sarah Lambert, U-Drive marketing manager, said: “When we heard that Marwell’s Zany Zebras education ranger needed a van to visit all the schools and youth groups involved, we were delighted to help. It is a fantastic community project to be a part of.”
The Grevy’s zebra sculptures will create a trail across Southampton to raise awareness of the plight of the creatures and give a welcome boost to the region's economy. An additional element to next year’s project will be a miniature trail of zebras inside Marwell.
Zany Zebras project manager Kirstie Mathieson said: “We are delighted to have U-Drive on board as our Education Partner. Do keep an eye out for the #ZanyZebraVan in the New Year – we can’t wait to see your photos!”
